We're on a mission to transform how Ontario students discover and engage with volunteer opportunities, creating meaningful connections that last beyond graduation requirements.
VoluntEx was born from a simple observation: while Ontario's 40-hour volunteer requirement for high school graduation is well-intentioned, too many students treat it as a box to check rather than an opportunity for genuine growth and community impact.
We watched as students scrambled to find any volunteer opportunity in their final year, often ending up in roles that didn't align with their interests or provide meaningful experiences. Meanwhile, incredible non-profit organizations in York Region struggled to find dedicated, passionate young volunteers.
That's when we realized the problem wasn't the requirement itself—it was the disconnect between students' passions and the available opportunities. VoluntEx bridges that gap.
To connect Ontario students with volunteer opportunities that align with their passions, skills, and career aspirations, transforming the graduation requirement into a launching pad for lifelong civic engagement and personal growth.
A future where every student graduates not just with 40 volunteer hours, but with meaningful experiences, new skills, and a genuine passion for community service that continues throughout their lives.
